Cemplank Inc. was originally a private building products company located in Blandon, Pennsylvania that manufactured products such as siding and other fiber-cement accessories. Cemplank was acquired by James Hardie Inc after shareholders accepted recommendations to restructure the company.
Today James Hardie has over 2,500 employees worldwide and maintains that innovation is pertinent to sustaining the company's prominent position in the fiber-cement industry.
Cemplank products are distributed by John Hardie Inc. The product offerings include lap siding which is a durable and attractive alternative to hardboard and vinyl is siding. With a grain texture finish, the siding looks like wood but gives a fiber cement performance. Cemplank siding is durable, non-combustible, termite and rot resistant. When shopping for siding, consumers can choose from a variety of designs.
In addition to lap siding products, the company manufactures Cempanel vertical siding and Centrim fiber cement boards. These products resemble wood but are more durable and can stand up to harsh conditions.
In 2001 Cemplank became a subsidiary of James Hardie Building Products when the latter acquired all of Cemplank's fiber-cement operations including the Summerville and Blandon manufacturing plants.
James Hardie Industries has operations in Australia, New Zealand, and United States. Although headquartered in Amsterdam, its products are also available in Asia and Europe. The company continues to invest substantially in research and development.
