CertainTeed sells a few different types of vinyl siding under the Wolverine brand. All types are basic horizontal siding.

Wolverine Varieties

The Wolverine consists of four types of vinyl siding:

  • Newtown
Newtown is the simplest variety of Wolverine siding. It has a projection of 7/16" and is 0.040" thick.

  • American Legend
This siding is designed to match soffit and trim. It has a 9/16" projection and a thickness of 0.042".

  • Encore
This product is intended to look like simple woodgrain. It has a 1/2" projection and a thickness of 0.040".

  • Restoration Smooth
This siding is intended to help houses resemble 17th century American architecture.

Wolverine Features

All of the above are available as either clapboard or dutch lap, with various different width options.

All Wolverine varieties except Newtown come with STUDfinder. This system is a series of marks on the panel that helps installers to see regular intervals on the siding panels.

Restoration Smooth and American Legend come with GripLock, a system that allows the vinyl panels to snap together easily.

Each variety of Wolverine siding is available in a selection from a large pool of colors. These include: buckskin, colonial white, cypress, desert tan, flagstone, granite gray, heritage cream, herringbone, light maple, natural clay, oxford blue, pale ivory, savannah wicker, snow, spruce, sterling gray, and warm sand.

Maintenance

Vinyl is generally low-maintenance, but should be cleaned sometimes. Dirt and chalk can accumulate on the siding. Wolverine siding can be washed with a car-washing brush and laundry detergent. Mold can be cleaned off with the addition of Clorox to the mix.

Warranty Info

All four Wolverine products come with a lifetime, limited warranty from CertainTeed. The warranty covers fading and manufacturing defects. The warranty is partly transferable but will not include fade protection under a new owner.

CertainTeed will provide a diminishing percentage of the original purchase price, based on how long the vinyl has been installed.
