Mastic Home Exteriors offers vinyl siding products that copy the look of real wood without the cost or high maintenance of the natural alternative. Mastic siding boards are installed to mimic clapboard, cedar grain, or the vertical lines of board and batten. The company also manufactures vinyl products that look like cedar shakes, shingles and half-rounds, as well as insulated siding. Various colors are offered with selected styles available in over 700 hues.
Mastic has been in the home improvement business since 1932 as a maker of asphalt-based siding products and later vinyl siding. Its first vinyl siding manufacturing plant was opened in 1964 in South Bend, Indiana. Innovations led to the creation of new brands including T-Lok Barkwood, Duranyl, Duranyl II, Quest-3 Series, Grand Sierra, and DreamColor.
The company became an Alcoa brand in 1989, joining their long list of home improvement products. The Mastic and Alcoa brands are now owned by Ply Gem along with brands Variform, Napco, Cellwood, Durabuilt, Georgia-Pacific, and United Stone Veneer. Ply Gem is a privately-held company with 5,000 employees and annual revenues of $1.5 billion.
Mastic Home Exteriors provides a "Registered VIP Limited Lifetime Warranty" which covers its vinyl siding and states that defective products will be repaired, refinished or replaced; that the siding is covered as long as the purchasers own their homes; and that is it transferable to the subsequent homeowners for 50 years from the original installation. The warranty also covers against manufacturing and workmanship defects, excessive fading due to sunlight, and hail damage. Homeowners should register their warranties with Mastic/Ply Gem Siding Group.
