Midwest Manufacturing Review: "Dennis Tetens Exteriors"

Name: Dennis Tetens
Location: Henning,Mn
Model: Steel siding

Metal Siding Satisfaction Rating:
1 of 5 stars Very Unsatisfied

Midwest manufacturing steel siding is junk. It will not stay locked up. I have been putting siding on for 30 years. They increased the width of the bottom of the siding because they had problems with it buckling. In order to do that they took away from the lock of the siding. Instead of at least a 1/4 inch lock there is now only an 1/8 inch lock. That is not enough to keep it locked up. I have pole barn screws all over in my house to hold the siding on. Do not buy this siding.

Midwest Manufacturing Review: "Thrilled with our steel siding"

Location: Morrisville, PA
Model: Double 4

Metal Siding Satisfaction Rating:
5 of 5 stars Very Satisfied

We installed this steel siding on a rental house we own approximately one year ago. We were attracted by promises that the siding would not warp and was easy to clean, and so far those promises have proven to be accurate. The color we picked, burgundy, is just beautiful and really gave the entire property a much-needed face lift. I also feel that we got an excellent price on this siding; money was a concern because we'd recently redone the siding on our own home, as well. The cost of the siding was more affordable that I would have predicted, and we got an agreeable deal on installation as well. Our previous siding on this property was made from vinyl, and we'd had some problems with staining, warping, and damage from road salt during the winters. So far our metal siding has had none of these problems. Our tenants have also mentioned to me that their heating bills have gone down noticeably since we put the steel siding up, which is nice to hear. I think that this type of siding is fantastic and would encourage anyone to look into it.

Midwest Manufacturing Review: "Metal Siding is not the way to go"

Location: River Falls, WI
Model: Pro-Lap Burgundy

Metal Siding Satisfaction Rating:
1 of 5 stars Very Unsatisfied

I have owned this metal siding for about 2 years now. I like that it has a good appearance, but that is about it considering all of the problems I've had with it. For one thing, when it hails, it gets dented, and doesn't look very appealing. When it hailed, it dented it so bad that you could see the dents in it from the road. Another thing that I dislike about it is that it shines really badly when the sun is out and doesn't look very good. The shine from the metal is so intense that it is hard to look at it. I had to get the metal siding replaced once because of really bad hail which was last summer. The replacement went fine, but the price to replace was not worth it. I do not think I would buy this brand again, or recommend it to a friend.
