Cedar West Review: "Purchasing Tight knotted Western Red Cedar siding was the best choice I have ever made."

Location: Carrabelle, Fl

Wood Siding Satisfaction Rating:
5 of 5 stars Very Satisfied

I had the Tight knotted Western Red Cedar bevel siding ordered and shipped from a company out west and it was installed in 2007. Not only does this type and color of siding make my house stand out from all the others in the neighborhood it is also the talk and envy of the whole town I live in. The tone and color of the wood is unmatched by anything I could have purchased anywhere in the Whole state of Florida. The only downside that I have had since I installed the siding is the constant ringing of my doorbell with people asking me where I got the siding from to begin with. I have yet to have any issues since installing this siding and it has been maintenance free. I am seriously thinking about building a work shop and ordering some more of this siding so that I can match it with the rest of the house. I would definitely recommend this siding to anyone that asks.

Cedar West Review: "Super Wood Siding!"

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Wood Siding Satisfaction Rating:
5 of 5 stars Very Satisfied

I bought wood siding for my house in Salt Lake City back in 2007. I have been constantly pleased with it and its look. It took me quite awhile to choose the certain model of wood siding, due to the massive variety of sidings available. In the four years I have had this particular wood siding, no damage has occurred needing repair. Some skeptics believe that wood siding requires a large time investment with maintenance. Contrary to this believe, I perform the same amount of maintenance as any other exterior choice would require. Cedar West had wonderful choices online, and the quality of the wood siding is spectacular. Other wood siding doesn't possess the quality and look of the wood siding that Cedar West offers. Overall, I am very pleased with my choice to purchase wood siding, as well as choosing to go with Cedar West. I recommend wood siding to any person looking to renovate their house with a nice look.

Cedar West Review: "Great siding, cedarwest"

Location: Rochester, NY

Wood Siding Satisfaction Rating:

I put these up on my house last summer and while the work involved was quite intense, the looks is incredible. They've also held up great throughout the record breaking winter this year. Outstanding!

Cedar West Review: "Wood Siding is Just So-So"

Location: Rochester, MN

Wood Siding Satisfaction Rating:
2 of 5 stars Somewhat Unsatisfied

I have owned this siding for about 5 years now. At first it was great. Looked wonderful and felt solid and sturdy. After the first thunderstorm with some hail, however, there were dents all around my house. (I live in a place where storms like these are often and expected.) Recently, some actual panels of the wood siding have actually fallen off and have also been developing what looks like bacteria or mold towards the bottom. Woodpeckers have been a big problem too. I will get holes the size of a small pebble in the side of my house from repeated peckings. Very recently I have started to notice small cracks running lengthwise along the siding. I have never repaired it other than washing it and nailing it back into place if the need arises. I would NOT buy the same product again-very very cheap. One good thing-insulation. Heating bill went down by a surprising amount.

Cedar West Review: "Good New wooden siding on my home."

Location: Ohio
Model: Red Cedar Siding

Wood Siding Satisfaction Rating:
4 of 5 stars Somewhat Satisfied

I recently had my siding replaced from vinyl to wooden because I found that the new look appeared to make my house look better from the 3d modeling programs I tried out. It turned out to be a great idea. I guess since it is a better insulator it is able to keep more cold air out, because my heating bill has went down about 5-10 dollars per month in the winter time. It was a little more expensive than my other siding, but seemed to be just as easy installing, from what I have seen when the guys were putting it up. Since it is new, it has only been painted once. This particular brand I went with because the price was right, and I heard good things about it. My other siding seemed to get cracked being exposed in the sunlight, but this new wood siding is absolutely great. Overall, I am happy with it. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family because of the insulating properties.

Cedar West Review: "Great traditional, non-vinyl option"

Location: Hyattsville, MD

Wood Siding Satisfaction Rating:
4 of 5 stars Somewhat Satisfied

We installed Cedar West stained wood siding about two years ago (an upgrade from the 50-year-old asbestos siding that was on the house when we bought it). Thus far, we have had no problems with it. We chose wood because it matched many of the other (older-style) houses in our neighborhood, would last a long time, and came in a variety of stains. Vinyl siding has never appealed to me or my husband, so we were happy that there were so many wood options available to us. We ultimately opted for Cedar West because of its reviews, price, and overall appearance. We look forward to many years of superior quality from our wood siding and would recommend it to others, but this choice may not be for everyone. First: resale might be harder, since most Americans are used to vinyl siding and may not like the shingled-look of wood. Second: if not resealed every few years, this siding will age quickly. Third: it doesn't match new windows (vinyl replacement windows) as well as vinyl siding would.
