HardiePlank Review: "best of the rest"

Name: j. Cunningham
Location: eugene, or

Cement Siding Satisfaction Rating:
5 of 5 stars Very Satisfied

As a multi housing maintenance tech, i have recently come accross a problem where a car drove into( and out of) three of our garages. the siding that we use is a hardie plank.(16 foot lengths) This is the only debris that i am not having any danger with in the disposal department. I found that the hardie plank when broken breaks pretty claen from their fastners and was throw free of the wreckage zone, unlike all the broken toes and headers that have splintered and become a 30 foot box of splinters.

HardiePlank Review: "Hardie Brand Cement Siding a Good Choice for Humid Climates"

Location: Kurtistown, HI

Cement Siding Satisfaction Rating:
4 of 5 stars Somewhat Satisfied

My small cabin was built with Hardieplank cement siding several weeks before I moved into it. Despite not painting it within the required time of the manufacturer'r warranty, it has held up without so much as a wrinkle, crack, or peel for the last year and a half. I eventually did paint this pre-primed material with an exterior water- based paint. While a single coat provided good coverage, with two coats the siding appears solid, sheds water, and is easily cleaned with a moist sponge. One drawback is that the material cracks very easily when cutting or nailing. It is necessary to use extreme caution when cutting pieces at angles smaller than 90 degrees, and screws, placed into pre-drilled holes are preferable to nails for fastening. The biggest benefit to this material here in wet, humid Hawaii, is that its alkaline nature makes it largely impervious to mold, rot, and termites. That fact alone is enough to make it worth considering as a siding choice- and the price is quite competitive over plywood as well! I would recommend this product to anyone living in a wet climate and/ or sensitive to mold.

HardiePlank Review: "My opinion"

Name: J. Reavely
Location: Winder, GA

Cement Siding Satisfaction Rating:
4 of 5 stars Somewhat Satisfied

I like that we get compliments on the outside of our house all the time even though we haven't even painted it yet. I dislike that if one nail was missed it sure makes a lot of noise in the wind. It has been about a year or so that our house got finished after it was rebuilt when it burned down and so far the siding seems to be doing just fine. Yes I would buy it again it wasnt too costly and it went up fairly quickly and easily!!

HardiePlank Review: "Easy Care"

Name: S Basile
Location: Bloomingdale

Cement Siding Satisfaction Rating:
5 of 5 stars Very Satisfied

I really like our HardiePlank siding because it is so easy to take care of. It is easy to wash off a couple of times a year to keep it looking fresh. The paint holds on well and doesn't seem to chip or fade off. My only complaint is sometimes if something heavy hits the bottom tiles they will crack but so far we have been able to repair them and repaint without to much problem

The Fiber Cement siding has held up very well for the last 10 years and looks almost brand new. I would definitely buy/install it again.

HardiePlank Review: "Review for a HardiPlank Home"

Name: Fran Freeman
Location: Suffolk, VA

Cement Siding Satisfaction Rating:
3 of 5 stars Neutral

HardiePlank came as a standard siding choice with our home. We previously lived in a vinyl-sided home and I honestly do not see much of a difference. We have not lived here long enough for me to comment on the wear, but it does seem easier to keep clean than the vinyl. For that reason alone, I would be willing to purchase the same brand again.
